caudexbildende, sukkulente Kletterpflanze bis zu 4 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, langgestielten, herzförmigen, tiefgrünen Blättern mit gesägten Rändern. Die dunkelgelben bis grünlich-gelben Blüten erscheinen in den Blattachseln, denen bei Reife strahlend rote Früchte folgen
