caudexbildender, robuster, krautiger Ranker mit in regelmäßigen Abständen angeordneten, runden, tiefgrünen Blättern und kleinen, achselständigen Blüten. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich kleine rote Früchte in Trauben. Verwendung: In der Volksmedizin wird die Pflanzen zur Behandlung von Fieber, Lebererkrankungen und als Schlafmittel verwendet, ebenso sollen verschiedene Stoffe gegen Malaria enthalten sein.
