robuster, krautiger Ranker bis zu 10 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, an der Basis herzförmigen, bis zu 18 cm langen und 18 cm breiten, tiefgrünen Blättern (im Jugendstadium silbrig behaart). Die langgestielten, seidig behaarten, bis zu 8 cm großen, trompetenförmigen, pink-purpurfarbenen Blüten mit dunklerem Schlund erscheinen in kleinen, dichten Büscheln in den Blattachseln
