The variety of tropical and subtropical fruits are grown as food, semiluxury food, as also are the numerous species of plants both as food, spices and / or look in folk medicine as a remedy.
Among the tropical fruit and spice plants we find e.g. Artocarpus, Stelechocarpus (Kepel), Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans), Ice cream bean (Inga edulis) and much more, they should enrich every winter garden and remain all year round there.
The subtropical fruit plants we count the strawberry tree (Arbutus), fig tree (Carica), pineapple guava (Acca sellowiana) and, can spend in containers on balcony or terrrace from spring to autumn, or can also be planted permanently outdoors.
The useful plants given special attention, because leaves, flowers, fruits or roots are sometimes sought-after vegetables, their seasoning in salads edible decorations (such as edible hibiscus flowers) a special flavor and juices will be awarded or used for the production of soaps, creams, oils etc.
Apples, pineapples, bananas, pears, cherries, plums, peaches and Co. are the fruits best known to us. But who has not ever marveled at the daily shopping at the market or supermarket, the stand with exotic fruits and vegetables. What kind of fruit? So what I have never seen before. How are they probably eaten and how may taste they? Certainly everybody has already put to itself these questions. But why sometimes a special fruit which is not to be found on every counter, growing from seeds?
