starkwüchsige Liane oder Kletterpflanze bis zu 15 m mit gegenständig angeordneten, doppelt gefiederten, meist 4-paarig angeordneten Blättern, die sich aus ca. 4 cm langen und 1,8 cm breiten, länglich-ovalen bis verkehrt eiförmigen, tiefgrünen Fiedern zusammensetzen. Die kleinen, creme-weißen, rötlich, rosa, weißlich oder grünlichen Blüten (je nach Entwickluingsstadium) erscheinen einzeln, paarweise oder in Büscheln mit bis zu 7 cm langen Ähren am Ende der Triebe und verströmen einen eher unangenehmen Duft. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich bis zu 30 cm lange Hülsenfrüchte, die in Segmente auseinander brechen 
Verwendung: Die Samen können gemahlen und zu einer Art Vorbeugung von Haarausfall verwendet werden, die eingeweichten Wurzeln zum Waschen der Haare, Stammwasser bei Infektionen der Augen. Aus dem Baum wird ein leicht süßliches, hellgelbes Harz gewonnen, das manchmal als Farbstoff verwendet wird.
