caudexbildender, laubabwerfende, zweihäusige Kletterpflanze bis zu 3,5 m mit wechselständig angeordnten, bis zu 11,5 cm breiten, 3-, 5- oder auch ungelappten, am Rand grob gesägten, tiefgrünen Blättern. Die bis zu 2 cm großen gelben Blüten erscheinen in den Blattachseln, gefolgt von grünen, weiß gezeichnten, bei Reife roten oder orangefarbenen Früchten
