immergrüner, mehrstämmiger, dichtverzweigter Strauch oder kleiner Baum bis zu 4 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 7 cm langen und 3,5 cm breiten, oval-elliptischen oder auch lanzettlichen, oberseits zart behaarten, grau-grünen, unterseits stärker behaarten, helleren Blättern mit gesägten Blatträndern. Die ca. 1,5 cm großen, gelben Blüten erscheinen in den Blattachseln, denen eßbare, ca. 1 cm ø große, bei Reife orange-braune Früchte folgen
