immergrüner, milchsaftführender Baum bis zu 20 m mit bis zu 13 cm langen und 5 cm breiten, elliptischen, glänzend mittelgrünen Blättern, die spiralförmig angeordnet am Zweigende erscheinen. Die kleinen, glockenförmigen, creme-weißen Blüten mit 6 eingeschnittenen Kronzipfeln erscheinen in den Blattachseln, gefolgt von langgestielten, großen, rundlich ovalen, braunen Beerenfrüchten mit gelblich-braunem, weichem, saftigem Fruchtfleisch, ähnlich vollreifer Birnen. Der Geschmack erinnert an Sahne-Karamel-Pudding
