in der Trockenzeit laubabwerfender Baum von ca. 10 m wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 15 cm langen, hellgrünen, samtartigen Blättern, junge Zweige behaart und von rostbrauner Farbe und achselständigen, duftenden, dreizähligne, creme-weißen Blüten mit gelb/violett geflecktem Zentrum, gefolgt von eiförmigen bis rundlichen großen Früchte mit harter rotbraune Schale und kegelförmigen Stacheln. Das Fruchtfleisch ist orangefarben und von süßem mangoartigem Geschmack
