Synonyme: Abrus abrus, Abrus minor, Abrus pauciflorus

laubabwerfender, schlanker, vielverzweigter Ranker bis zu 10 m mit verholzendem Stamm und wechselständig angeordneten Blättern, bestehend aus gefiederten, paarig angeordneten, bis zu 15 cm langen, länglich ovalen, tiefgrünen Blättchen. Die weißen bis rosa-violettfarbenen Blüten erscheinen in langgestielten Büscheln in den Blattachseln.
Verwendung: Die Samen werden zu Schmuck verarbeitet und haben medizinische Eigenschaften, sind aber extrem giftig, ähnlich dem Schlangengift. Pflanzen und Samen von Kindern fernhalten!

Fertilization: weekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + sand or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 15-20°C + keep constant slightly moist
Overwintering: Older specimens bright at approx. 10-15°C, and according to ambient temperature just so much to water that the root ball not dries out completely.
