immergrüner, Strauch oder klein bleibender Baum bis zu 5 m mit ausladenden, fast kletternden Ästen und wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 6 cm langen und 1,5 cm breiten, breit elliptischen, ledrigen, glänzend tiefgrünen, strukturierten Blättern. Die hängenden, grünlich-weißen bis cremefarbenen Blüten erscheinen in den Blattachseln, denen dekorative Früchte mit großem Calyx (Fruchtkelch) folgen
