immergrüner, kleiner Strauch bis zu 2 m mit kleinen, kreuz-gegenständig angeordneten, oberseits glänzend, unterseits helleren, sattgrünen Blättern mit auffälliger Äderung. Die zahlreichen Blüten mit rotem, zartbehaartem Kelch und creme-weißen Blütenblättern erscheinen hängenden kleinen Büscheln in den Blattachseln
