laubabwerfender, offenkroniger Baum bis zu 25 m (in Kultur bis zu 18 m) mit rundlicher Krone, grau-brauner, gefurchter Rinde und wechselständig angeordneten Blättern, bestehend aus ca. 25 cm langen, unpaarig angeordneten bis zu 9, lanzettlichen bis verkehrt eiförmig lanzettlichen, hellgrünen, fein gesägten Blättchen mit einem endständigen Blatt und strahlend gelbem Herbstlaub. Die männlichen, grünlich-gelben Blüten sitzen in bis zu 14 cm langen herabhängenden Rispen am Ende der Triebe, die weiblichen, kleinen, ebenfalls grünlich-gelben Blüten erscheinen in endständigen kleinen Büscheln, gefolgt von bis zu 4 cm langen, rundlichen Steinfrüchten mit dicker Schale. Die Nüsse sind nicht zum Verzehr geeignet!

Fertilization: biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass

Culture: in the 1st + 2nd year bright or dark at approx. 0-5ºC in unheated greennhouse + keep slightly moist only
Overwintering: After this period, older specimens can be planted safely outdoors, preferably in the vicinity of waters.
