Kapernstrauch, Caper Bush
Synonyme: Capparis spinosa var. inermis, Capparis aegyptia, Capparis baducca, Capparis cartilaginea, Capparis galeata, Capparis mariana, u.v.a.
immergrüner oder auch laubabwerfender, kleiner Strauch bis ca. 1 m mit kriechendem oder hängendem Wuchs und rutenförmigen Zweigen, wechselständig angeordneten, sukkulenten, eiförmigen Blättern. Die großen 4-petaligen, weißen Blüten mit zahlreichen, weit herausragenden, violetten Staubblättern erscheinen in den Blattachseln.
Verwendung: Die Knospen werden eingelegt als Gewürz genutzt!
