laubabwerfende Kletterpflanze bis zu 20 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, langgestielten, 3-gelappten tiefgrünen Blättern. Die gestielten, glockenförmigen, cremegelben Blüten mit grünlích-gelben Kelch erscheinen einzeln oder in kleinen Büscheln in den Blattachseln und verströmen einen intensiven Duft. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich eßbare, grapefruchtgroße, gelbe Früchte mit süßem Papaya-Geschmack
