immergrüner, kleiner, epiphytischer Strauch bis zu 2 m mit vierkantigen Zweigen und kreuzgegenständig angeordneten, bis zu 30 cm langen, breit eiförmigen bis verkehrt eiförmigen, ledrigen, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern mit heller Mittelrippe und auffälliger Nervatur. Die bis zu 25 cm langen, hängenden Rispen bestehen aus bis zu 100 kleinen, rosa- bis magentafarbenen Blüten und erscheinen in den Blattachseln unterhalb von zwei gegenständigen Blättern. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich bei Reife lilafarbene Beeren

Propagation: Seeds/Cuttings/Layering
Sowing Time: all year round
Sowing Deep: Light germinator! Only sprinkle on the surface of the substrate + slightly press on
Sowing Mix: Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Germination Temperature: ca. 25°C > irregular
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: until germination takes place
Irrigation: in the growing season regularly water + always free of lime with room temperature water
Fertilization: monthly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Scale insects, Mealy bugs, Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: slightly acid, humoses substrate (pH 5.5 6.5) + sand or perlite
Culture: hell bei ca. 20-25°C + konstant leicht feucht halten + hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit
Overwintering: Older specimens bright with at least 16-20°C, and to water with warm rain water only so much that the root ball not dries out completely, and to spray daily. From November to spring the location may be sunny, in the remaining time, partial shade.
Note: Withered flowers cut off at the base, then formed new leaves.
