immergrüner Baum bis zu 10 m mit wechelständig angeordneten, bis zu 18 cm langen, breit elliptischen, tiefgrünen Blättern mit auffälliger Nervatur. Die strahlend weißen Blüten erscheinen einzeln oder paarweise in den Blattachseln. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich ca. 7 cm breite, leicht abgeflachte, eßbare, bei Reife gelbe, stark aromatische, saftige Früchte mit wohlschmeckendem, süßen Fruchtfleisch
