Dear plant and garden enthusiasts,
Over many years, we have had the pleasure of accompanying you on your gardening journey with exotic seed rarities and plants from around the world. Watching things grow together has brought us great joy. But every project has its time—and for us, the moment has come to step back. Due to health reasons, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to permanently close the sunshine-seeds.de online shop and enter our well-deserved retirement. This decision was not an easy one for us. However, our health now requires our full attention. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your many years of loyalty, the trust you have placed in us, and your enthusiasm for our green rarities! Important information regarding the shop closure:
Our shop will remain open until September 30, 2026.
The last day to place an order is September 25, 2026. Please feel free to use this time to secure your favorite seeds one last time.
Processing: All paid orders received by September 25, 2026, will, of course, be processed, packed, and shipped reliably as usual.

Synonyme: Triphaca africana, Sterculia triphaca, Sterculia guerichii, Sterculia tomentosa

caudexbildender, laubabwerfender, kleiner Baum bis zu 12 m mit mehrfarbiger grau-beige gefleckter Rinde und wechselständig angeordneten, langgestielten, herzförmigen, tiefgrünen Blättern mit gewellten Blattränder und auffällig heller Mittelrippe. Die grünlich-gelben, rot getönten Blüten mit rötlicher Nervatur erscheinen meist vor dem Laubaustrieb, gefolgt von gelblichen Früchten, die eßbare, schwärzliche Samen enthalten

Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet

Irrigation: in the growing season regularly water
Fertilization: monthly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: cactus or potting soil + 1/3 grit + 1/3 sand or perlite
Culture: hell bei ca. 15-20ºC + konstant leicht feucht halten
Overwintering: Ältere Exemplare hell oder dunkel bei ca. 10-15ºC und nur in größeren Abständern und kleinen Mengen soviel gießen, daß der Wurzelballen nicht völlig austrocknet.
