laubabwerfender, kleiner Baum bis zu 7 m , der mit dem Alter einen etwas flaschenförmigen Stamm bildet, wechselständig angeordnete, langgestielte, bis zu 10 cm lange und 16 cm breite lanzettliche, ei- oder auch rhombenförmige, ledrige, glänzend sattgrüne Blätter. Die bis zu 2 cm langen, glockenförmigen, weißen bis cremefarbenen Blüten erscheinen in endständigen Rispen an meist laublosen Bäumen
