immergrüner Strauch oder kleiner Baum bis ca. 4 m mit gegenständig angeordneten, bis zu 17 cm langen und 6 cm breiten, elliptischen, oberseits glänzend tiefgrünen, leicht gewellten, unterseits helleren. Die intensiv duftenden, weißen, wachsartigen, weißen oder gelb-weißen Blüten erscheinen in den Blattachseln.
Verwendung: die Wurzeln werden zur Behandlung von Bluthochdruck, Schlangenvergiftungen und Rheuma verwendet
