mehrjährige, immergrüne, rhizombildende Staude bis zu 4,8 m mit langgestielten, tiefgrünen Blättern und herabhängenden, langen Blütenständen mit bis zu 14 dunkelroten bis orange-roten Brakteen (jüngere Brakteen mit gelber Basis auf grünem Kiel), die die eher unscheinbaren, gelben-orangegelben Blüten umhüllen

Culture:	bright at around 20-25°C + keep constant slightly moist + high humidity
Overwintering:	Mature specimens at least 15-25°C, with high humidity and the substrate is constant only slightly moist. Lower temperatures by 5°C, are only briefly tolerated.
Note:	Remove withered leaves only when they are completely brown, because the plant can still use their nutrients.
