immergrüner, verholzender Strauch mit überhängenden Zweigen oder auch ein vielverzweigter, kleiner Baum bis zu 4 m mit dunkel schokoladenbrauner Rinde und wechselständig angeordneten, unpaarig gefiederten, ca. 7 cm langen, elliptischen bis breit ovalen, tiefgrünen Blättern. Die süßlich duftenden, kleinen, weißen Blüten erscheinen in ca. 8 cm langen Rispen in den Blattachseln
