immergrüner, kleiner Strauch bis zu 2 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, zart behaarten, tiefgrünen Blättern und Blattstielen. Die weißen Blüten mit zurückgeschlagenen Petalen, die je nach Alter der Blüten zu purpur- bis pinkfarben wechseln, erscheinen in den Blattachseln
