langsamwüchsige, laubabwerfende, stammbildende, bedornte Sukkulente bis ca. 6 m mit langen, lanzettlichen, tiefgrünen Blättern und auffälliger Mittelrippe. Die duftenden, weißen Blüten mit grünlichem Zentrum erscheinen am Ende der Triebe.
Der Unterschied zu Pachypodium lamerii besteht darin, das diese Art weniger glänzende Blätter besitzt, der Stamm ist glatt und grünlich-silber und die Blüten haben ein grünliches Zentrum.
