laubabwerfender, kleiner, wenig verzweigter, in allen Teilen nach Karotten duftender Baum bis ca. 7 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, gefiederten Blättern, bestehend aus länglich-ovalen, spitz zulaufenden, tiefgrünen Blättchen mit tief gezähnten Blatträndern, die gehäuft am Ende der Zweige erscheinen. Die kleinen, grünlich-weißen Blüten erscheinen in Büscheln oder lockeren Dolden am meist laublosen Holz
