laubabwerfender, kleiner Baum bis zu 12 m mit dichter, vielverzweigter, buschiger Krone und gegenständig angeordneten, bis zu 5 cm langen und 3 cm breiten, elliptischen bis ovalen, ledrigen, glänzend hell- bis dunkelgrünen Blättern mit auffallender Nervatur. Die duftenden, gelben Blüten erscheinen in vielverzweigten Büscheln den Blattachseln am alten Holz, gefolgt von ca. 5 cm großen, ovalen, fleischigen, grünen, bei Reife orangefarbenen Früchten. Unreife Früchte sind giftig!
