Dear plant and garden enthusiasts,
Over many years, we have had the pleasure of accompanying you on your gardening journey with exotic seed rarities and plants from around the world. Watching things grow together has brought us great joy. But every project has its time—and for us, the moment has come to step back. Due to health reasons, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to permanently close the sunshine-seeds.de online shop and enter our well-deserved retirement. This decision was not an easy one for us. However, our health now requires our full attention. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your many years of loyalty, the trust you have placed in us, and your enthusiasm for our green rarities! Important information regarding the shop closure:
Our shop will remain open until September 30, 2026.
The last day to place an order is September 25, 2026. Please feel free to use this time to secure your favorite seeds one last time.
Processing: All paid orders received by September 25, 2026, will, of course, be processed, packed, and shipped reliably as usual.

Sterculia foetida

Stinkbaum, Skunk Tree, Java Olive, Hazel Sterculia, Poon Tree, Wild Indian Almond
Synonyme: Clompanus foetida

laubabwerfender, zweihäusiger Baum bis zu 40 m mit grauer, gefleckter Rinde und quirligen, oftmals horizontal angeordneten Zweigen. Die bis zu 7-9 handförmig gefingerten tiefgrünen Blätter an bis zu 23 cm langen Blattstielen bestehen aus bis zu 17 cm langen und 5 cm breiten elliptischen oder elliptisch-lanzettlichen Blättchen, erscheinen vorwiegend am Ende der Zweige und verströmen einen eher unangenehmen Duft. Die dunkel karmesinroten, orangegelb gefleckten Blüten erscheinen in bis zu 15 cm langen Rispen an oftmals laublosen Bäumen. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich große Balgfrüchte mit eßbaren Samen und angenehmen Geschmack
