immergrüner, buschiger Strauch oder kleiner Baum bis zu 10 m (in Kübelkultur bis zu 3 m) mit gegenständig angeordneten, bis zu 18 cm langen und 5 cm, breiten elliptischen oder länglich-ovalen, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern mit auffällig, gelber Nervatur. Die intensiv duftenden, kleinen, röhrenförmigen, weißen, 5-petaligen Blüten erscheinen in den Blattachseln, aus denen sich eßbare, ca. 2,5 ø große, eiförmige bis runde, bei Reife gelbe Früchte entwickeln
