Dear plant and garden enthusiasts,
Over many years, we have had the pleasure of accompanying you on your gardening journey with exotic seed rarities and plants from around the world. Watching things grow together has brought us great joy. But every project has its time—and for us, the moment has come to step back. Due to health reasons, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to permanently close the sunshine-seeds.de online shop and enter our well-deserved retirement. This decision was not an easy one for us. However, our health now requires our full attention. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your many years of loyalty, the trust you have placed in us, and your enthusiasm for our green rarities! Important information regarding the shop closure:
Our shop will remain open until September 30, 2026.
The last day to place an order is September 25, 2026. Please feel free to use this time to secure your favorite seeds one last time.
Processing: All paid orders received by September 25, 2026, will, of course, be processed, packed, and shipped reliably as usual.

Peltophorum pterocarpum

Gelber Flamboyant, Yellow Flame Tree, Yellow Poinciana
Synonyme: Caesalpinia ferruginea, Peltophorum ferrugineum, Peltophorum inerme, Baryxylum inerme

schnellwüchsiger, immergrüner, kleiner bis mittelgroßer Baum bis zu 15 m (am Naturstandort bis zu 25 m) mit ausladender Krone und wechselständig angeordneten, langgestielten, doppelt gefiederten bis zu 45 cm langen Blättern, die sich aus bis zu 20 paarig angeordneten Fiederblättchen zusammensetzen, diese bestehen abermals aus bis zu 30 paarig angeordneten, kleinen, ovalen, tiefgrünen, zart behaarten Blättchen. Die intensiv duftenden, bis zu 5 cm großen Blüten, am Rand geknitterten Petalen mit bräunlich-rotem Basalfleck im Schlund erscheinen an bis zu 60 cm hohen, aufrechten, verzweigten Rispen am Ende der Triebe

Propagation:	Seeds/Cuttings
Pre-Treatment:	pour hot water over the seeds + soak ca. 24 h

Sowing Mix:	Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Germination Temperature:	ca. 22-25°C
Location:	bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time:	ca. 2-4 weeks
Irrigation:	in the growing season richly water
Fertilization:	biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests:	Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate:	potting soil + sand or perlite
Culture:	bright at approx. 15ºC + keep constantly moist
Overwintering:	Ältere Exemplare hell bei ca. 10-15°C und nur soviel gießen, daß der Wurzelballen nicht völlig austrocknet. Bei kühlerer Überwinterung kann evtl. das Laub abgeworfen werden.
