immergrüner, kleiner Strauch bis zu 1 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, dicken, ovalen oder länglich ovalen, ledrigen, wachsartigen, oberseits tiefgrünen (im Alter glänzend tiefgrün), unterseits weiß behaarten Blättern mit heller Mittelrippe. Die langgestielten, weißen Blüten mit goldgelben Staubgefäßen im Zentrum erscheinen in den Blattachseln
