immergrüner oder auch laubabwerfender, pfahlwurzelbildender Strauch oder kleiner Baum bis ca. 4 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, 3-5 gelappten, ca. 14,5 cm langen und 16 cm breiten, oberseits tiefgrünen, unterseits helleren, leicht haarigen Blättern. Die becherförmigen, wachsartigen, mattroten Blüten mit grüner oder graugrüner Basis erscheinen in achselständigen, kleinen Büscheln meist in der laublosen Zeit direkt an Stamm und Ästen

Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: cactus or potting soil + 2/3 sand or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 10-15°C + keep constant slightly moist
Overwintering: Older specimens bright at approx. 5-10°C and water only sporadically in larger intervals and small quantities, The foliage is dropped at cooler temperatures and keep dry during the leafless time.
