immergrüne, rhizombildende Staude bis ca. 1,8 m mit spiralförmig angeordneten, bis zu 45 cm langen und 15 cm breiten, elliptischen, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern und endständigen, aufrechten, kegelförmigen, bis zu 8 cm hohen Blütenständen, bestehend aus zahlreichen, orangefarbenen Brakteen, die jeweils eine eßbare, gelb-orangefarbene Blüte umschließen

Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet

Fertilization: biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + sand or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 15-20°C + keep constantly moist + high humidity
Overwintering: Older specimens bright at approx. 10-15°C and according to ambient temperature just so much water that the root ball not dries out completely.
Note: Indoor suitable!
