immergrüner Strauch oder kleiner Baum bis zu 4 m mit gegenständig angeordneten, ca. 20 cm langen und 6 cm breiten, lanzettlichen bis elliptischen, oberseits glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern mit auffälliger Nervatur und gewellten Blatträndern. Die duftenden, bis zu 5 cm großen, weißen, 5-petaligen Blüten mit gelbem oder weißem Zentrum und langer Röhre erscheinen in aufrechten, lockeren Büscheln am Zweigende. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich eiförmige, bei Reife orangefarbene Früchte
