immergrüne, rhizombildende Staude bis zu 4 m mit an der Basis verdickten Pseudostämmen und wechselständig angeordneten, lanzettlichen, tiefgrünen Blättern. Die zapfenförmigen, orange-rot getönte Blütenstände mit weißem Saum erscheinen auf bis zu 1,5 m hohen Blütenstielen und entwickeln sich direkt aus dem Rhizom

Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet

Fertilization: biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + sand or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 20-25°C + keep constant slightly moist + high humidity
Overwintering: Older specimens bright with at least 18-20°C, and to water with warm rain water only so much that the root ball not dries out completely, and to spray daily. From November to spring the location may be sunny, in the remaining time, partial shade.
