Dear plant and garden enthusiasts,
Over many years, we have had the pleasure of accompanying you on your gardening journey with exotic seed rarities and plants from around the world. Watching things grow together has brought us great joy. But every project has its time—and for us, the moment has come to step back. Due to health reasons, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to permanently close the sunshine-seeds.de online shop and enter our well-deserved retirement. This decision was not an easy one for us. However, our health now requires our full attention. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your many years of loyalty, the trust you have placed in us, and your enthusiasm for our green rarities! Important information regarding the shop closure:
Our shop will remain open until September 30, 2026.
The last day to place an order is September 25, 2026. Please feel free to use this time to secure your favorite seeds one last time.
Processing: All paid orders received by September 25, 2026, will, of course, be processed, packed, and shipped reliably as usual.

Stratification: ca. 4-6 weeks in moist sowing mix at 0-5°C in the fridge or unheated greenhouse
Sowing Time: all year round
Sowing Deep: cover only slightly with substrate
Sowing Mix: Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Alternative: in fall/winter sowing in coldframe or unheated greenhouse
Germination Temperature: ca. 20°C
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: ca. 3-6 weeks
Irrigation: in the growing season moderate water
Fertilization: monthly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + 1/3 sand, 1/3 gravel or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 0-5°C + keep evenly slightly moist
Overwintering: The plants can be planted in April-May outdoors and the above-ground part dies in late autumn. In winter the tubers can remain in the ground and usually sprout in the spring again.
Note: drought-tolerant!
