immergrüner, langsamwüchsiger, stark bedornter Baum bis zu 9 m mit ausladender, schirmförmiger, dichter Krone, zickzackförmigen Zweigen und wechselständig angeordneten gefiederten Blättern, bestehend aus bis zu 5 paarig angeordneten, bläulich-grünen Blättchen. Die langgestielten, kugelförmigen, goldgelben Blüten erscheinen in den Blattachseln
