kleiner bis mittelgrosser, ausladender Strauch bis zu 6 m und wechselständig angeordneten, lanzettlichen, dicken, ledrigen, tiefgrünen, glänzenden Blättern mit ausgeprägter Nervatur (im Jugendstadium lanzettlich bis oval, dunkelgrün und mit einem Blattstachel versehen). Die ca. 1 cm grossen, weissen oder creme-weissen Blüten erscheinen in 3- bis 7blütigen, achselständigen, hängenden Dolden
