immergrüner Strauch bis zu 2 m mit gegenständig angeordneten, ca. 11 cm langen und 4 cm breiten, breit lanzettlichen, tiefgrünen Blättern mit ausgeprägten Blattnerven. Die kleinen, weißen oder hellgrünen Blüten erscheinen an aufrechten, verzweigten Rispen am Ende der Zweige. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich kleine, bei Reife strahlend blauen Beeren
