immergrüner, hoher Baum bis zu 50 m mit ausladenden Zweigen und bis zu 18, ca. 30 cm langen und 8,5 cm breiten, länglich-lanzettlichen, dünnledrigen, tiefgrünen Blättern mit auffälliger Nervatur, die spiralförmig angeordnet am Ende der Zweige erscheinen. Die bis zu 10 cm großen, wachsartigen, 6-petaligen, gelb-creme-weißen Blüten mit unzähligen Staubgefäßen erscheinen in Rispen vorwiegend an Stamm (Kauliflorie) und älteren Ästen (Ramiflorie), denen stammfruchtende, bis zu 25 cm große braune, kugelige Früchte mit holziger Schale folgen
