Synonyme: Cercis canadensis var. orbiculata, Cercis orbiculata

laubabwerfender, ausladender Strauch oder kleiner Baum bis zu 5 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 10 cm langen, ledrigen, nierenförmigen, glänzend bläulich-grünen Blättern, rötlichem Neuaustrieb und gelber Herbstfärbung. Die ca. 1,5 cm ø strahlend dunkel purpur-rosafarbenen Blüten erscheinen in Büscheln mit bis zu 6 Einzelblüten direkt am alten Holz (Kauliflorie)

Overwintering: Ältere Exemplare können an einem sonnigen, geschützten Standort mit entsprechend Winterschutz ins Freiland gepflanzt werden.
Note: Naturally lies the germination rate of this kind only at approx. 30-40%!
