immergrüner Strauch oder kleiner, ausladender Baum bis zu 8 m mit rötlich gefärbter oder orange-brauner, korkiger oder warziger Rinde, wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 20 cm langen und 3 cm breiten, verkehrt eiförmigen, länglichen, ledrigen, oberseits glänzend tiefgrünen, unterseits helleren Blättern mit fein gezackten Blatträndern und endständigen, aufrechten, bis zu 20 cm langen und 9 cm ø, hellgelben Blütenständen mit rosafarbenen Staubbeuteln
