laubabwerfender Strauch oder kleiner bis mittelgroßer Baum mit runder Krone und wechselständig angeordneten, ca. 6 cm langen, ovalen bis lanzettlichen, tiefgrünen Blättern mit gesägten Blatträndern und schöner, roter bis rotbrauner Herbstfärbung. Die duftenden, tassenförmigen, ca. 4 cm ø großen weißen Blüten und goldgelben Staubfäden im Zentrum erscheinen in den Blattachseln
