immergrüne, krautige Pflanze bis ca. 50 cm mit rosettenförmig angeordneten, schwammig gestielten, ca. 45 cm langen und 20 cm breiten, lanzettlichen, ledrigen, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern. Der aufrechte Blütenstand erscheint aus den Blattachseln und besteht aus dem zylindrischen, weißen Kolben (Spadix) umgeben von außen weißen, innen purpurroten Spatha (Hüllblatt)
