immergrüner, mehrjähriger, verholzender Kletterstrauch mit gegenständig angeordneten, bis zu 10 cm langen, lanzettlichen, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern und trompetenförmigen, tief magentaroten Blüten mit rotem Schlund, die sowohl in achsel- als auch in endständigen dichten Büscheln erscheinen
