mehrjähriger, kleiner Strauch bis zu 2 m mit vierkantigen Trieben und paarig angeordneten, bis zu 10 cm langen, lanzettlichen, tiefgrünen Blättern mit gesägten Blatträndern. Triebe als auch Blättern sind zart behaart. Die leuchtend orange-roten, samtigen Röhrenblüten erscheinen in vielen übereinander angeordneten Quirlen, vorwiegend in den oberen Blattachseln
