immergrüner, kurzstämmiger, mittelgroßer Baum bis ca. 14 m mit einer dichten, elliptischen Krone und wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 7 ca. 8 cm langen, ovalen bis lanzettlichen, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern. Die leuchtend zartgelben bis gelben Blüten mit einem purpurfarbenen Basalfleck erscheinen in achselständigen Trauben
