immergrüner, oftmals mehrstämmiger Strauch bis ca. 5 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, stiellosen bis ca. 12 cm langen breit ovalen bis elliptischen, silbrig blau-grünen Blättern (jüngere Exemplare mit matt graugrünen Blättern). Die bis zu 10 cm großen Blütenköpfe, bestehen aus unzähligen pink-roten oder strahlend roten Staubfäden mit gelben Staubgefäßen

Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: ca. 3-6 weeks
Irrigation: in the growing season regularly water + let dry between watering
Fertilization: monthly 0,1%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: Cactus or potting soil + 2/3 sand or perlite
Culture: in the 1st year bright at approx. 5-10ºC + keep slightly moist only
Overwintering: Older specimens bright at approx. 0-5°C, and just so much water that the root ball not dries out completely.
