immergrüner Strauch oder kleiner, schlanker Baum bis zu 15 m mit gegenständig angeordneten, unpaarig gefiederten Blättern, die sich aus 3-5 länglich-elliptischen, tiefgrünen Blättchen und einem endständigen Blatt zusammensetzen. Die bis zu 5 cm langen, trompetenförmigen, strahlend gelben Blüten mit rötlichen Streifen auf den unteren Kronzipfeln erscheinen in dichten, verzweigten Rispen am Ende der Triebe
