immergrüner Strauch bis zu 2 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, gestielten, bis zu 9 cm langen, herzförmigen, beidseitig zart behaarten, grau-grünen Blättern mit unregelmäßig gezahnten Blatträndern. Die großen, glockenförmigen goldgelben Blüten mit rotem Zentrum wechseln je nach Alter von aprikot bis orange und erscheinen in den Blattachseln
