Eschscholzia californica

Goldmohn, Schlafmützchen, California Poppy

mehrjährige, meist jedoch einjähirge Staude bis zu 60 cm mit tiefen Pahlwurzeln und grundständigen, rosettenförmig angeordneten, bis zu 14 cm langen, farnartigen, grau-grünen Blättern. Die bis zu 12 cm großen, langgestielten, schalenförmigen, goldfarbenen Blüten mit orangefarbenem Basalfleck erscheinen einzeln in den Blattachseln. Eschscholzia sind die Staatsblumen von Kalifornien!
